its because they ARE dead and this is from years of conditioning and brainwashing, sweden is an experiment place for our masters, they want to make us all like these people, dead inside, robots.

Well if you just say ''Hi'' and noting else to a stranger in the street we would think that you are a bit.. weird? But if you would like to asks a complete stranger something a good phrase to start with would be '' excuse me, hi I was just wondering if yadayadayada''

Thinking to myself but LOL, I think I might actually take your advice literally and actually say: ''excuse me, hi I was just wondering if yadayadayada''. I am a married man(and my interest would be to see the reaction of both male and female test subjects) but that phrase verbatim could be a one liner - conversation starter.

I am the kind of person that would do something like that although I have no problems at all with interacting with native Swedes and fellow immigrants eye-to-eye.

Little children do that. (before their mother tells them off for speaking to strangers)
Grownups that do that are:
a) with a child's mind
cool.gif want something

So either you are silly or a beggar, so no wonder people don't pay any attention to you.
You don't say "hi" to strangers - they don't know you, and don't want to deal with a silly person or a beggar. Capisce?

Do Swedish people come up to you out of the blue and give you a random 'hej!'? ... Nope didn't think so. So just because you like to do it does not mean that Swedish people like it. In fact they would more than likely feel that you are intruding on their personal space unless you had a specific purpose to stop them in the street e.g. ask for directions etc..

Swedes don't give other strangers a random 'hej' as it is not part of the way that they socialise. It isn't rude, it is just not part of the culture. I am not Swedish, but would find that quite strange in itself regardless of what city I was in, i.e. NY, London, Dublin or Stockholm.

I think you need to stop being a sensitive twat to be honest and stop blaming the Swedes for your own social shortcomings.
