Hello all,
I happen to be a bit late to work today and I increased my speed to make up for the time. I was doing 100kph on 80kph road and I think I was caught by a camera. How much fine should I expect? Your inputs will be appreciated cos I'm a bit worried unsure.gif

No, google is not your friend when you don't know the Swedish keyword to search for and the English keywords are not giving you any Swedish results.

I think that explains why my google translate always gives the wrong translation cos mine is set on UK version by default.

No, thats not the critical bit in translate, you should use the dropdowns at the top of google translate when necessary to tell it what languages you are wanting to go to and from, the autodetect is not particularly reliable.

Hackie,

The link posted by Johno is the correct address but for some reason it doesn't work if you click on it. Search for "fartkameror sverige" on google.se and click on the third result (it should be the same address as the link above).

Based on the chart they provide, I think your fine will be 2400 SEK.

Update: The site worked a few minutes ago, but now I'm getting an error message again.

Here you have the numbers directly from the police: http://www.polisen.se/Lagar-och-regler/Tra...ik/Trafikboter/

100 on an 80 road is 2400 SEK.

63 in a 50 zone is only 2400 SEK, so the above poster were probably clocked in a 30 zone which would make it 4000 SEK.

Of course, remember if you have had your driving license less than 2years it can be taken away for breaking the speed limit

That only applies to offenses for which you would normally lose your license for a limited time (i.e. over 20kph too fast in a 30 zone or 30kph too fast otherwise). If you have a probational driver's license you then have to redo the test completely.
