They cannot. It will be classed as a pure religious ceremony. In fact, the mosque should have also explained before the wedding that they needed to see the hindersprövning intyg. Before you can legally be married (as in recognised by the State) the couple must apply for hindersprövning where a check is made to ensure that they both can legally marry each other, if that goes ok skatteverket issue a document that is valid for 4 months stating that they are ok to marry each other. Without that document, they were not allowed to marry in the eyes of civil law, and therefore cannot be registered and the couple are considered as unmarried.

But can they can't do this hindersprövning process now they have already certificate ? or they need to do start the process again then can use old certificate to register?

Where to do hindersprövning any information about that?

One more thing what are the pro and cons of living as sambo and as husband wife ?

Thx!

You can always try, but I would warn you that according to Swedish law if the person performing the ceremony has been authorised to do so by the State (ie. not just a religious marriage) they are supposed to notify skatteverket immediately once the marriage ceremony has been performed ... Skatteverket will then also double check that the hindersprövning was performed within the prior 4 months of the marriage ... if it has not, not only is the marriage void in terms of state law, but the person that conducted the ceremony in a least case have their authority to conduct marriages withdrawn, in a worse case face court action as Skatteberket may pass the case to the public prosecutor. I suspect that the Mosque knows they should have checked, but didn't or just performed it as a religious ceremony.

It cannot be done after the event, as according to law there has not been a marriage, the hinderspröv is the check made to decide if you can legally marry in Sweden. Check with Skatteverket.
