This information I'm about to give you is 100% true. I can say it as a fully-fledge Swede with Swedish as my motherlanguage.

NORDOSTERSJOKUSTARTILLERIFLYGSPANINGSSIMULATORANLAGGNINGSMAT
ERIELUNDERHALLSUP PFOLJNINGSSYSTEMDISKUSSIONSINLAGGSFORBEREDELSEARBETEN

It means: preparatory work on the contribution to the discussion on the maintaining system of support of the material of the aviation survey simulator device within the north-east part of the coast artillery of the Baltic."

Do not even try to read the word, since it's compeletely impossible and it will never come to use. But that doesn't change the fact of it being there. tongue.gif

henric, is that in svenska akademis ordlista or ordbok?

if not...well, then you can debate on whether it's a word or not.

I think you will find the longest UK word is

FLOCCINAUCINIHILIPILIFICATION = an estimation of something as worthless.

This is the longest word in the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.

You won't find it since it's lacking "å-ä-ö" in that written form, and I haven't checked yet. But as far as my motherlanguage tells me, it looks quite legit.

the akademi can handle the å ä ö. the ordbok hasn't been completed, but i think they're up to U or something, so a word starting with N will be there.

also. don't confuse the ability to compound in swedish to "create" a "word" with the existence of a true swedish word.

in swedish, complex concepts are written as one word (compounded) though are not necessarily "one word"
