QUOTE (Mari) http://www.svenskkassaservice.se/tjanster/id_kort_xl.html
Does this mean what I think it means???? Can we get and Id now? Anybody read this? I found it by accident when looking for the rules regarding drivers license in sweden. I don't think there is any change but it does depend on your circumstances: QUOTE 1.
- Under namnet skrivs beställarens personnummer. Basically you must already have Swedish id/ driving licence/ Swedish passport or national id card. Or you must be accompanied to the kassaservice by a person who already has an id card who can certify your identity You must also have a personbevis from the tax office. The government has appointed an inquiry to look into the problem but the inquiry is not due to report back until the end of 2007 or start of 2008. |

Or you must be accompanied to the kassaservice by a person who already has an id card who can certify your identity That basically means that they have changed the rules though, as before you have to be accompanied by a parent/child/spouse. This is great news!!! |

It'll probably take me a while to get round to it... |

Ok, now I'm confused...
This is from the English version: QUOTE If you don´t have an approved ID a close relative 1) can verify your identity. The person who verifies your identity must be over 18 years old, a registered resident in Sweden and accompany you when ordering the ID card. He or she must be able to prove the relationship and show approved identification.
A civic registration certificate which proves your relationship can be ordered by phone at 0771-567 567. 1) For example example husband/wife, registered partner, parent/guardian or of age child. Weird... hopefully it's just because they haven't got around to translating it yet. Maybe the best thing to do is to bring a printout of the Swedish one |

Damn i never though it would be difficult. When i arrived a year ago they said i didn't need one and they told me i could easily get one just by asking them (in the tax office). So i decided not to do it...last monday i asked and they said it was no problem, i just needed some paper from the tax office with my personnumer on it and done, sent home in 4 weeks...
So i don't understand where the change is...??? |

These rules look so weird to me. I do understand the sudden changes since JAN 2007 , but for me ( I'm not an EU citizen ), I could get an ID from my bank and I could even actually help a friend of mine ( who is an EU citizen ) sign up for his ID using my ID as the introducer. This was a couple of years back though. I hope things get back to the way it was before. It really doesn't make any sense the way it is today.
