After a long, cold winter, the return of Sweden's top football league saw a torrent of pent-up energy and aggression unleashed - and that was just among the sports writers.

Halmstads got off to a flying start with a 5-2 win over Örebro, and they were joined at the top of the table by AIK and Örgryte, the only other teams to record a victory.

Scandal #1 of the new season: Kalmar FF's trainer, Nanne Bergstrand, accused the referee of foul play in his team's game against IFK Göteborg. "Our foreign players never had a free kick in their favour," he told Expressen. "It looks like racism."

It's going to be a long, hot summer.
