The government wants to ban hooligans from the terraces of Swedish football and ice-hockey stadiums, according to an article in Sydsvenska Dagbladet.

A proposal has been made stating that prosecutors should be able to "ban fans behaving provocatively" from the terraces. Those who try to use fireworks or "generally vandalise the premises" should also be excluded, and anyone caught breaking the ban would face a fine or up to six months' imprisonment.

Clubs around Sweden currently have the right to stop hooligans from getting in, but have no legal right to throw them off the terraces if they get in without being noticed.
