Swedish tourists have been told not to worry about the unrest in Taba in Egypt, according to an article in Expressen on Friday.

"We are monitoring the situation, but we don't necessarily advise that people shouldn't travel there", said Nina Ersman at the Foreign Office.

Most Swedes currently in the country are holidaying at Hurghada by the Red Sea, or at Sharm el-Sheikh, which is about 200 kilometers south of Taba.

"Egypt is known for maintaining high security at their resorts, particularly since unrest Luxor in 1997", said Lottie Knutson, press offcer at Friditdsresor.
