Households and businesses told to save energy

The Swedish environmental protection group has put forward a proposal on how to ensure that households and companies don't waste energy, according to an article in DN on Thursday.

“Energy politics in Sweden is not very good at the moment”, said Svante Axelsson, General Director at the Environment Protection Authority. He claims it’s important to focus on energy efficient use of electricity and not just on how energy is provided.

A “saving’s scheme” for companies, through which they are supposed to encourage their customers to save more, is one solution. It could earn them a “white certificate” to prove they are eligible for funding towards their investments, explained DN.
