Why does Sweden still have a royal family?

It seems completely contradictory that the Most Equal Country in the World (tm) not only has a monarchy, but loves its monarchy. Doesn't its existence violate the so-called Jante Law (you shall not presume that you are someone special) that permeates Swedish society?
