Göteborgs Posten sent out some positive news on Friday about ozone toxins in the air, saying they are less threatening in Västra Götaland as a result of less pollution from other European countries. Sweden has less of a problem than other parts of Europe, but nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbon are a great threat because the pollution is airborne. "Ozone close to the ground can only develop with lots of sun light", explained by GP, but is obviously still a threat. It can cause respiratory irritation and can have a severe effect on asthmatic people. The Swedish Meteorological Society has noted that pollution in Västra Götaland has decreased by 44 to 45 per cent in the last few years.
