Increase in passengers at Skavsta

The number of passengers at Skavsta airport outside Nyköping increased by 37 per cent last year compared to 2003. A total of 1,347,724 passengers travelled via the airport in 2004, which makes it the best year yet in terms of passenger numbers.

Forecasts for new EU countries

Astra withdraws application

Pharmaceutical company Astra Zeneca has withdrawn its application from the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) for the drug Iressa, a treatment for patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

Christmas shopping down

Up to 21 December clothes sales in Sweden had dropped by 2 per cent and shoes by 5 per cent compared to the same period last year. The sectors concerned have subsequently lowered their sales forecasts.
