The project will be managed by the Baltic Business School in Kalmar.
The funds will be used to set up networks of companies, universities and government agencies in the nine countries.
Icelanders buy into Scribona
Burdarás, the Icelandic investment bank, has become a major shareholder in IT supplier Scribona and is demanding a seat on the board. Burdarás is actively looking for acquisitions in Scandinavia, primarily in finance, IT and telecoms. It owns 20 per cent of Carnegie, a prominent investment bank.
Canal Plus offers movies via broadband
Pay-TV company Canal Plus is to launch a new movie service intended for the broadband market. The first company to offer the service is Canal Digital. The service, which will be known as C More à la Carte, is seen as an alternative to picking up a video at the video-store.
