India, which will eventually replace its fleet of Russian MiG 21 fighter planes, has requested information from Sweden, USA, Russia and France prior to issuing a call for tender.

Owe Wagermark, information director at Gripen International, says the firm expects that India will issue an invitation to tender within six months.

Talks with Thailand on replacing some 20 American F5 fighters are more advanced, according to Wagermark.
