Regional growth gap widens

According to a newly released report from Nutek, the Swedish Business Development Agency, metropolitan areas have the best potential for strong growth while Norrland's inland region has the worst.

The Agency warns that there is a growing divide between the regions of Sweden, that new enterprise is too low and that small companies are experiencing problems.

Swedish exports on the increase

In January Sweden's visible exports rose by 6 per cent year-on-year and totalled 67.9 billion kronor. At the same time, visible imports rose by 11 per cent and totalled 56.5 billion kronor. The net trade surplus fell from 12.8 billion kronor to 11.4 billion kronor.
