Malmö's Turning Torso "best residential property"

Turning Torso, built by NCC for HSB in Malmö, won the prestigious MIPIM Award in the best residential property category at Thursday night's World's Property Market award ceremony held in Cannes.

The MIPIM Award is annually presented to the world's foremost development projects in a range of categories like shopping centres, office properties, residential properties, refurbished office properties and hotels.

Turning Torso won the award in the best residential property category competing against properties from London and Miami.

Each project is assessed on the basis of its architectural and technical quality, design originality, integration into the surroundings, infrastructure and access to services.

NCC started building the Turning Torso property in Malmö during summer 2001. The Turning Torso is supposed to represent a completely new way of living with generous communal spaces, an outstanding view and magnificent architecture a few of the features that make the property stand out.

The building offers 33 different types of apartments, all dominated by a natural flow of light, thanks to their open plan layout and large windows.
