A 62-year old man from Gothenburg has been sentenced to ten years in prison for trying to smuggle 20 kilos of amphetamines across the Swedish border, according to DN on Thursday.

He drove off a Danish ferry last November, in a chevrolet, "with the drugs stacked where the hood to the roof would normally be stored". Helsinborg district court found the man guilty of "serious drug smuggling", but he claimed "he had to do it to pay back gambling debts".

During the weekend the 62 year old was caught, police managed to seize a total of 37 kilos of amphetamines in less than 24 hours.
