It’s up north, according to ComputerSweden, that illegal downloads are increasing most. Almost half of the teens Lunarstorm spoke to admitted they’re downloading more than they did last year. For the rest of the country, the figure was 41%.
The goody-two-shoes turn out to be Stockholm’s youth who, no doubt sampling other temptations in the capital, apparently download the least.
But all may not be lost for the music industry. Sweden’s kids seem to be considerably more willing to pay up for downloading music than older generations.
50% of teens aged 15-18 regularly cough up the necessary kronor, compared to only one in ten adults between the age of 22 and 25 paying for their downloads.
