Orders up for Swedish industry

AFXSwedish new industrial orders rose 1.8 percent in February from January, and rose 5.6 percect compared with the same period a year earlier, Statistics Sweden has said.

The monthly rise reflected a 2.1 percent increase in export market orders, and a 1.5 percent increase in domestic market orders.

New orders in the capital goods industry increased in February from January by 9.5 percent, while new orders in the intermediate goods industry fell

by 10.3 percent.

New orders in the last three months (December - February) rose 1.7 percent

compared with the preceding three months.
