Metro takes on Blocket with launch of "Metro Market"

According to Metro's press statement Metro Market (www.metromarknad.se) had almost 900,000 classified ads on launch day.
The site works party by using Allaannonser.se, a search motor that combs classified ads from other websites like Koll.se, owned by the Bonnier Group and Blocket.se, owned by Schibsted. Customers can also advertise directly on Metro Market.
Dagens Industri claims Blocket are so incensed by Allaannonser they are considering legal action against the company. Pierre Siri, Managing director of Blocket would not confirm when or if this would take place.
Metro, meanwhile, plans to introduce the "Metro Market" concept in the seventeen other countries where it currently publishers newspapers.
