(AFP) Police on Thursday said the number of Swedes confirmed dead after the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster in December had reached 402, up from 384 a week ago.

The total number of those killed or missing remained unchanged at 544, police said in a statement. Since the names on the list of missing and dead were published in February, the number has dropped from 565.
