The judge admitted that he had paid for sex after it became clear that there was a strong case against him, DN has reported.
The judge is believed to have bought sex off the rent boy on at least four occasions in January and February this year, at a cost of 1,000 kronor per session.
The evidence against the judge includes emails from the 20-year old’s computer and text messages from his mobile phone. In one email, the rent boy explains that he “takes payment”, to which the judge replies, “that’s OK”.
Prosecutors will decide on Friday whether to take the case to court, although the fact that the judge is cooperating means that he is likely to escape trial, and will only face a fine.
Meanwhile, his future at the Supreme Court remains uncertain. His fate is in the hands of Göran Lambertz, the Chancellor of Justice. Speaking to Swedish radio, Lambertz said that the case was “very unusual”.
“As far as I know, there is no precedent for this case.”.
