Prosecutors are appealing the verdict of a Stockholm court, in which three men were found not guilty of killing 29-year old Marcus Gabrielsen on Kungsgatan in central Stockholm earlier this year.

One man was found guilty of serious assault, another of assault, and a third man was cleared of all charges at Stockholm City Court in July. The case against the men fell after a number of witnesses changed their stories in court.

Now prosecutor Anne-Marie Bergström has said that she wants to try again to get a murder conviction over Gabrielsen's death. She told news agency TT that she is hoping that witnesses will come forward with new testimony, and that new forensic tests will provide more information,

The man convicted of serious assault is also appealing. He admits kicking Gabrielsen once, but the court decided he had kicked the 29-year old twice. The convicted man's lawyer said that this had led to his client getting a longer sentence.
