Three dead as Swedish bus crashes in Germany

Three people died in a fatal road accident near Regensburg in southern Germany on Wednesday after a bus carrying holidaymakers back to Sweden crashed into a lorry, local police said.

The driver of the bus, which was registered in Sweden and was returning from the Balkans, was killed along with his deputy and another employee of the transport company.

Police said one of the dead men was from Serbia-Montenegro, but identification of the other two had not been established.

A total of 31 passengers from Sweden, Serbia and Croatia were injured in the crash, some of them seriously. During the day 17 were released from hospital.
