At least two people were killed and two injured when an industrial building under construction collapsed in the southern Swedish town of Helsingborg on Friday, police said.

The concrete roof of the building caved in, crushing some of the workers inside, police chief Inspector Nils-Erik Svensson told AFP.

Police said the four were the only people believed to have been in the building at the time of the mid-morning accident, but did not rule out the possibility of finding others inside.

"We won't know for sure until all the rubble is removed," Svensson said, adding that the cause of the accident was not yet known.

The daily Expressen said in its online edition that some 30 construction workers were on the site at the time of the accident.
