Ahlsell "in purchase talks"

Wolseley plc, the British plumbing and building supplies group, is in talks to buy Swedish rival Ahlsell in a deal that will value the business at around €1.5 bln eur, including debt, the Financial Times newspaper without citing sources.

It is competing against Bain Capital, Cinven, CVC Capital and Goldman Sachs in an auction run by Morgan Stanley, it said.

Ahlsell is being sold by private equity group Nordic Capital.
