It is the club's 11th Allsvenskan title overall.
But, partly at least, they have Stockholm rivals Hammarby to thank. After being two goals down to IFK Göteborg - Djurgården's closest challenger in the league - Hammarby came back to win 3-2 with a goal from Erik Johansson in the 90th minute.
"I'm going to invite Erik to dinner," said Djurgården's Matias Concha, in a rare moment of affection between the two sides.
Some 7,000 Djurgården supporters had travelled over to Gothenburg to watch the match - and around a thousand of them bounded onto the pitch at the final whistle to celebrate.
With still one game left of the season, the result means that both Djurgården and IFK Göteborg have clinched two of Sweden's four places in this winter's Royal League tournament between the top Scandinavian clubs.
Four other teams - Malmö, Kalmar, Hammarby and Helsingborg - have realistic chances of snatching one of the final two places.
