In total, Sundsvall district court dished out 29.5 years' imprisonment, 340 hours of community service, 10 months' secure youth care and 260 days' fines. Twelve Sundsvall residents had already been found guilty of involvement.

The 24 people who were sentenced on Thursday come from Norrköping, the Stockholm area, Ängelholm, Hjo, Skövde, Skellefteå and Matfors.

Seven of those involved were found guilty of serious drugs offences and given between two and four and a half year prison terms. They were found to have bought, and then sold on, significant quantities of ecstasy and other drugs from a main supplier in Malmö.

In the remaining part of the case, the key player in the network, a 24 year old from Malmö, will be tried.
