Glocalnet reports Telia Sonera to Competition Authority
Telecoms operator Glocalnet has reported its competitor Telia Sonera for breaking competition regulations by abusing its dominant market position.
In a press release, Glocalnet said it wants the Swedish Competition Authority to force Telia to change its prices immediately. According to the company, Telia is demanding excessive rates from operators who want to buy capacity on its copper network.
At the same time, Telia is cutting prices to its own customers.
"Telia's action hinders the competition and that hits consumers. Swedish consumers are losing hundreds of millions of kronor every year in unnecessarily high costs because Telia is holding up the prices on the infrastructure," said Jan Edholm, managing director of Glocalnet.
