Two cannabis growers from Gothenburg were sentenced on Monday to more than four years in prison after being found guilty of serious drugs offences.

The men, aged 37 and 33, denied having anything to do with narcotics.

Suspecting that a property on a central Gothenburg industrial estate was being used to cultivate cannabis, police raided the place in August. They found three rooms behind a secret door. Two of the rooms were packed with cannabis plants.

The space was specially fitted with a ventilation system and lighting for indoor cultivation, and 14 kilos of cannabis had already been harvested.

Although both men were linked to the property, they said they had nothing to do with growing the cannabis.

The older man was sentenced to four years and ten months in prison, while the younger man received four years and eight months.

The ‘fairytale' boarding school nestled in a Swedish village

The words ‘boarding' and ‘school' often summon images of strict teachers, drab dormitories and downcast children. That image couldn't be further from reality at Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket (SSHL), where boarders describe the ‘fairytale' school as a home away from home.
