Woman arrested after Skåne shooting

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after shooting two men at a farm south of Kristianstad.

The men, who were aged 69 and 43, were both seriously wounded, although their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. They were taken by ambulance to the Central Hospital in Kristianstad.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 2pm on Tuesday. According to news agency TT’s sources, one of the men who had been shot called the police.

The motive behind the attack could have been jealousy. The 50 year old woman and the two men seem to have had some sort of relationship, according to the information director at Skåne police, Lars Förstell.

“This is to do with the woman’s boyfriend or ex-boyfriend and his father,” said Förstell to TT.

The woman fled the scene in a car but was arrested later in the afternoon in an apartment in central Kristianstad.

She used a handgun in the attack but police have not revealed what type.

“The woman is suspected of attempted murder and probably also for illegal possession of a firearm,” said Lars Förstell.
