A 41 year old man has been remanded in custody after being stopped on Saturday by customs officials at the Norwegian border at Svinesund. He had a kilo of cocaine in his stomach.

The man was a passenger on a bus which was stopped for a routine check. One of around a hundred condoms full of cocaine had burst in his stomach and the man was taken to hospital in Fredrikstad for treatment.

Customs officials in the east of Sweden had an equally exciting weekend.

Officers at Karlshamn seized three kilos of a substance thought to be methamphetamine. A man who had come from Klaipeda in Lithuania had the drugs in his baggage.

The man is being held by police and is expected to be charged on Tuesday.
