Two Swedish teenagers killed by Falun train

Two teenagers have died after being hit by a train on Thursday afternoon near Ornäs in Dalarna.

According to TV4 Gävle/Dalarna the youngsters ran onto the track from a patch of forest. They were hit by the oncoming train and probably died immediately.

The train was travelling to Falun from Borlänge when the accident happened, reported Swedish Radio Dalarna.

"The driver has said that the youngsters came running out of the forest and ended up right in front of the train," said Karl-Ove Westman at Falun police.

The dead youths were 16 and 17 years old.

The accident happened two kilometres outside Ornäs and the train's passengers continued their journey by bus, said Karl-Ove Westman.
