Two Swedes die in California plane crash
Two Swedes died on Wednesday night in a mid-air collision involving two Cessna light-aircraft in California.
The crash happened to the east of San Diego, according to CNN. The nationality of the two Swedes was confirmed by the head of the flight school where they were taking lessons.
The Swedes were in one of the planes involved in the collision. The person in the other plane also died.
One of the planes fell into the roof of a house, the other onto a park, CNN reported. The crash sites were less than a kilometre from each other.
The Swedish Foreign Ministry was unable to confirm the information.
"We have not received any information from our consulate," said Ingrid Palmklint at the ministry, "but we have asked them to look into it."
