An HIV-positive woman from southern Sweden who had sex with her husband over nine years and gave birth to two children while keeping her condition secret is to be prosecuted for serious assault.

Neither the husband nor the children of the woman were infected, although according to prosecutor Tord Josefsson this was down to sheer luck.

Helsingborgs Dagblad and Sydsvenskan reported that the woman is also being prosecuted for allowing an acquaintance to help her inject medicine without protective equipment.
