Volvo plans seven new models

Volvo is to introduce seven new models between 2007 and 2009, according to the company's managing director Fredrik Arp, who was speaking at the Stockholm Motorshow.

The Volvo boss also said that the company was investing heavily in fast-developing markets, with China the key target. Volvo reckons it can double its sales volume there this year, said Arp.

In the Swedish market Volvo plans to increase its market share from the current level of 20% through aggressive spending on the new C30 model, among others, which will be launched next year.

It will be the company’s smallest model and is expected to attract a new customer group.
