Swedish prime minister sues Ryanair

Sweden's prime minister and former foreign minister are suing low cost airline Ryanair for 75,000 kronor each, reported Swedish Radio Sörmland.

Göran Persson and Laila Freivalds want compensation after Ryanair used a picture of them in an advertisement which appeared in Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet in February. They say they have been exploited by the company and did not give their permission for the image to be used.

Persson and Freivalds have previously sought compensation from Ryanair without success, so have now referred the case to Stockholm district court.
