The quarrel has now reached the courts, with the man suing his former fiancée for half of the winnings, 1,075,000 kronor, reported Smålandsposten.
According to the man, the couple had joint finances during the years in which they lived together in Småland – a region whose residents are stereotyped by the rest of Sweden as being notoriously tight-fisted.
That financial set-up means that he paid for half of the winning ticket, claims the man.
But the woman rejects that, saying that the ticket was just hers.
