Police hunting a four year old girl who went missing in Årsta havsbad, a coastal summerhouse area south of Stockholm have found her alive.

The girl was reported missing by her parents on Sunday morning and police committed significant resources to the search effort.

Several police units were sent to the area, including officers specially trained in tracking missing people.

Civilian staff and dog patrols were also called in, said Ann-Christine Ekelund at the nearby Handen police station.

At 10.30am police reported to TT that the girl had been found. They did not comment on her condition other than confirming that she was alive.
