Swedish coach for Panathinaikos
Swedish coach Hans Backe will be the new coach for Greek club Panathinaikos Athens next season, the domestic Athens News Agency (ANA) reported Thursday.
Backe was in Athens and reportedly signed a one-year contract with the club.
The Greek press has reported that Backe would be replacing Italian Alberto Malesani who will step down at the end of the season.
Backe, 54, left Danish club FC Copenhagen last December after coaching the team for four seasons.
He has also coached Austria's SV Salzburg (2000-2001) and Swedish clubs AIK Solna (1994-1995) and Hammarby IF (1987-1988).
