Man lay beside dead mother for two weeks

A severely mentally handicapped man was found on Wednesday lying beside his dead mother in their home in Hägersten. According to the police, the mother, who was aged 77, had been dead for around two weeks.
"We believe that she died on May 5th," said police spokesman Mikael Säter to Stockholm City.
The 47 year old man was extremely dehydrated and was taken to hospital.
Neighbours alerted police when the cleaner who usually helped at the house was unable to get in.
