Daycare assistant jailed for sex attacks

A 33 year old man was sentenced on Wednesday to two years in prison for sexually assaulting an 8 year old boy.
The assaults occurred in 2003, when the man worked as a personal assistant for the boy, Vestmanlands newspaper reported.
The case has received attention because the man has worked at a Stockholm daycare since last autumn. The school did not know he was suspected of sexual assault.
"I was naturally incredibly shocked when I heard how it was," said the pre-school principle, who was not named in a Dagens Nyheter story.
"I have worked in pre-schools for over 20 years and have never seen anything like this."
The assaults occurred in the man’s home after the boy went there with him on several occasions, reported TT.
The man will also have to pay 110,000 kronor in compensation to the boy.
