A police patrol in Löddeköpinge noticed a car driver who appeared to be under the influence. The suspected driver sped off and police followed. The car appeared to be stolen, reported TT.

Just outside of Kävlinge, northwest of Malmö, the police lost track of the car. Police drove into Kävlinge looking for the car. After a few minutes, police found the male driver dead.

The car had crashed into a concrete barrier next to a bike crossing and then spun around. The accident occurred around 3 a.m. The dead driver has yet to be identified.

“We are going to begin an internal investigation,” said Martin Carlsson, police spokesman, to TT. “You always do this in this kind of situation.”
