A man in a town east of Gothenburg called police Sunday night and said he had seen a buffalo walking around.

When police arrived they saw a long-horned runaway from the Borås animal park. The park's personnel showed up and sedated the animal with a tranquilizer dart as it walked down Engelbrektsgatan, near the town's center.

“Now it will be transported back to the animal park,” said Bo Dahleman, police spokesman.

Nobody was injured during the animal's retrieval. How the animal escaped its enclosure is unknown.
