A riot broke out in Malmö district court on Thursday morning leading to at least one man being taken away in handcuffs with a bloody face, according to Expressen.

The fight erupted in the courtroom while a man was being tried for attempted murder.

“It was a full uproar and it seemed like everybody was fighting everybody,” said a witness to the brawl.

Police arrived on the scene and immediately called for backup. An additional five patrol cars appeared shortly after.

After nearly 30 minutes, some 20 people came out of the court, but five minutes later another fight began.

According to Expressen and Sydsvenskan, relatives from those involved in the case were mixed up in the fight.

The trial resumed shortly after.
