Pregnant teenager attacked in Helsingborg

A pregnant teenager was attacked by muggers on Friday night in Helsingborg, southern Sweden.

The woman was in the town's docks district with friends when a group of younger men started to argue with them. According to witnesses, the 18-year old pregnant woman was attacked by two of the men when she tried to break up the argument.

The men knocked her to the ground, and kicked her in the head and stomach. They also took belongings from her handbag before disappearing from the scene.

The woman was taken to hospital, and remained there on Saturday morning. Police did not know how bad her injuries were.

Police say they have good descriptions of the woman's assailants, and plenty of witnesses to the attack. Helsingborg police say they believe they have a good chance of finding the culprits.
