Aggressive dogs have recently attacked several residents in the Malmö area, including three students. Now, the municipality is considering forcing owners to put their canines on a leash, an idea some are not happy with.

“What an unfortunate recommendation,” said Nils Erik Åhmansson, a member of the Swedish Kennel Club. “Besides, it won't help.”

A leash law already exists in the Södra portion of the city and in the town's center.

The municipality will make its decision next week.
