Malmö wants to force dogs onto leashes

Aggressive dogs have recently attacked several residents in the Malmö area, including three students. Now, the municipality is considering forcing owners to put their canines on a leash, an idea some are not happy with.

“What an unfortunate recommendation,” said Nils Erik Åhmansson, a member of the Swedish Kennel Club. “Besides, it won’t help.”

A leash law already exists in the Södra portion of the city and in the town’s center.

The municipality will make its decision next week.
