Bert Karlsson sells up to Warner
Warner Music is to buy Mariann Grammofon AB, the record company founded and built up by Swedish producer and TV celebrity Bert Karlsson.
"We are extremely proud to add the prestigious Mariann catalogue to our offering," said Jonas Siljemark, head of Warner Music Scandinavia.
Bert Karlsson revealed in the middle of May that his company would be sold. But at the time he did not say who the purchaser would be.
Karlsson will continue as consultant for Mariann, which he began in Skara in 1972. Some 30 artists are on the company's books, with dance bands such as Barbados and Friends among the most prominent.
Kikki Danielsson, Carola, Charlotte Perelli and Eddie Meduza are also signed up with the company.
The first release under the new owners will be in August from the dance band Mats Bergmans.
