A Swedish court on Friday jailed a Moroccan man for five years for selling 45 kilos of hash in the Netherlands for re-sale in Sweden, according to the Scandinavian country's public radio, SR.

The 35-year-old man was sentenced by Luleå district court in northern Sweden.

He was charged in his absence in February and was handed over to Swedish authorities in June, SR said.

The drug, a derivative of the cannabis plant, had been bought in the Netherlands for 700,000 kronor.

The man's accomplices, a 55-year-old Swede, who planned the operation, and a third man who transported the drugs from the Netherlands to Sweden were both jailed for five years in June. A fourth man, believed to have financed the ring got four years and six months, according to SR.

The man denied the charges.
